York Builders Association Presents Annual Parade of Homes

21 new and remodeled homes in York County will open their doors for free self-guided tours on September 15 and 16, from 10am – 5pm. For nearly three decades, the York Builders Association and its members have been hosting the York Parade of Homes. This year’s event is presented by Traditions Mortgage, a division of York Traditions Bank.

York Builders Association To Host Training On New Building Codes

YORK, PA – For the first time in nearly a decade, new construction codes will go into effect in Pennsylvania on October 1, 2018. As a result of the PA Uniform Construction Code (UCC) Review and Advisory Council’s (RAC) report submitted to the Department of Labor and Industry on May 1, the majority of provisions contained in the 2015 International Code Council (CC) Model Codes will be adopted.

2018 Construction Career Days a Success

Over the last several months the York Builders Association’s (YBA) Workforce Committee put a lot of time and effort into planning our first Construction Career Days events, which took place on April 16 – 18.  Outreach to schools and students is a major focus of our strategic plan.  During a meeting with York County Economic Alliance, we were approached with the offer to take over their construction day program previously held in April 2017.  It was a perfect fit for our new goals and objectives and the association’s Board of Directors approved the adoption of the program.

Consumers in York County, along with industry professionals from across Pennsylvania have spoken and the York Builders Association is pleased to announce the 2018 PEAK Achievement Award winners. These awards recognize excellence in all aspects of the building industry, from building, remodeling, and outdoor projects to design and service to the community.  Winners were honored at the 2018 PEAK Achievement Awards Banquet on May 10 at the Out Door Country Club in York.
