May 17, 2018 | Uncategorized

YORK, PA – Carmine Pantano, owner of Frank’s Marble & Granite has been awarded the 2018 Mack Smith Award from the York Builders Association (YBA). This award is part of the PEAK Achievement Awards, presented annually by YBA. The Mack Smith Award recognizes an individual’s commitment to the goals and objectives of the Association and their contribution to the Association, the profession, and their community.

The PEAK Achievement awards recognize excellence in all aspects of the building industry, from building and remodeling, to community service, outdoor projects, and designs. Pantano, along with other award winners was honored at the 2018 PEAK Achievement Awards Banquet on May 11 at the Out Door Country Club in York.

Pantano is the owner of Frank’s Marble & Granite, LLC in Red Lion. The company has been a YBA member since 1984. Carmine officially took over the family business in 2011 and has since served in many capacities, including Chair of the 2014 Remodeler’s council.

Pantano is committed to York county – not only through YBA and through his current role as President of the Buy Local Coalition, but he is also heavily involved in fundraising and volunteering with many other organizations, including the local chapter of the Sons & Daughters of Italy, The Red Lion business Association, Christopher Columbus Scholarship Fund and countless others.

“Carmine is hard-working, honorable, a strong & loyal partner to all he does business with and brings cheer with him wherever he goes through his sense of humor and constant smile,” said YBA Executive Vice President Laurie Lourie. “He is truly the embodiment of the many characteristics we look for in Mack Smith Award nominees.”

The Mack Smith Award is named after charter member Mack Smith, who exemplifies characteristics such as leadership, community service, and respect, dedication to the industry, mentorship, professionalism and compassion. Individuals can be nominated each year by their peers and selected by a committee of building industry professionals.

“I am honored to receive the Mack Smith Award. Not only did it come as a complete shock, I am honored to have my name next to Mack Smith and the previous recipients of this award. The YBA does so much for the building industry and the community, I’m proud to be part of this great association!” says Pantano.

Other award winners include categories like Best Kitchen, Best Bathroom, and Best Outdoor Projects.
