The York Builders Association (YBA) is proud to partner with Servants through their Home Helps initiative to provide critical home repairs and accessibility solutions for those in need. Our focus: building wheelchair ramps for local veterans, ensuring safety, independence, and dignity for individuals who may be elderly, disabled, or living on a fixed income.
These ramps don’t just improve daily life, they help prevent injuries, reduce hospitalizations, and restore hope where it’s needed most.
Right now, 15 veterans in York County are waiting for an accessibility ramp.
With your help, we can begin closing that gap.
We’re asking YBA members to let us know if you’re interested in contributing materials, labor, or both. Please take a moment to fill out the short survey linked below.
Ways to Get Involved
Labor: Volunteer for a Ramp Build
YBA members can donate labor by volunteering on-site for a 1-2 day ramp build (as individuals or company teams). Volunteers will:
- Work alongside a Servants project manager and trained team
- Help with tasks like measuring, cutting, assembling, and installing ramp components
- No experience required- just a willing heart and helping hands
Materials: Donate Supplies
YBA members can also:
- Donate materials for a specific ramp (a detailed material list will be provided – as each ramp and size vary)
- Contribute from the Servants Building Material Donation List

“I’m overwhelmed with gratitude. I’ve lived here for 17 years and never had anyone help like this. These are blessings beyond belief.”
