YORK, PA – The York Builders Association recently announced that a fundraiser held at the 2021 York Home & Garden Show raised $8,300 for the YBA WorkforceNOW program. YBA member company TC Backer Construction, LLC donated materials and built all items for the silent auction.
For the second consecutive year, TC Backer Construction, LLC stepped up to make the fundraiser a success. There were four items built and auctioned off during the Home & Garden Show. The items included two greenhouses, a planter box bar, and a potting bench. All items were handmade and had a total value of over $9,000. The auction ended on May 9th and all items were sold to raise a total of $8,300.
“We are consistently blown away by the commitment of the TC Backer Construction team! They are a community-minded company and put so much effort into the projects they take on. The skilled trade shortage is a critical problem for our industry. Our members realize that, and we are so honored that the team at TC Backer put their talent toward being part of the solution,” said YBA Executive Vice President Laurie Lourie.
All funds raised will support WorkforceNOW. WorkforceNOW is a York Builders Association awareness initiative dedicated to educating students, parents, and the community about the many opportunities for rewarding careers in the skilled trades.
