The York Builders Association (YBA) recently installed Shonna Cardello of White Rose Settlement Services, Inc. as the 2019 President at a special event held at the Out Door Country Club. Cardello will serve as President of the YBA Board of Directors for a term of one year.

Founder and President of White Rose Settlement Services, Inc., Cardello is a York County native, active in the title industry for more than 26 years. A licensed title agent in Pennsylvania and Maryland, she has earned the designations of Certified Land Title Professional and National Title Professional. Shonna serves in several capacities for the American Land Title Association and the Pennsylvania Land Title Association, as well as the York Builders Association.

Shonna’s commitment to the home building industry spans over a decade. She served as president for the charter year of the York Builders Association Women’s Council. That year, the council was recognized for a community service project overhauling Trindle House, a group home for boys through the Children’s Home of York. She has served in various capacities at both the state and local level, including Regional Vice President and chair of several committees.

Shonna’s awards and recognitions include being a two-time recipient of the RAYAC Affiliate of the Year Award for volunteerism, the Title Action Network Agent Recruit of the Year, and the Title Industry Political Action Committee – Outstanding State Award. She was recently honored in 2018 for receiving her lifetime directorship from the Pennsylvania Builders Association (PBA).

As President of the Board, Shonna will provide leadership to the over 400-member association in concert with Executive Vice President Laurie Lourie and a 20-member Board of Directors.

Regarding priorities for the coming year, “Addressing the lack of workers in the skilled trades is a key objective for the Association moving forward,” said Cardello. “We recently launched our WorkforceNOW brand that will focus on increasing awareness of career opportunities and providing resources for students, parents, employer organizations, teachers and schools. I am committed to building support for workforce initiatives and educating anyone who will listen about how deeply the lack of a skilled workforce impacts our communities.”

“I’m really looking forward to this coming year and having an opportunity to engage with our members, legislators, and other community partners to increase awareness on issues of importance, continue to strengthen our association, and build a better future for our industry,” noted Cardello.
