YORK, Pa. – Shonna Cardello, President of White Rose Settlement Services, Inc. has been awarded the 2021 Mack Smith Award from the York Builders Association (YBA). This award is part of the PEAK Achievement Awards, presented annually by YBA. The Mack Smith Award recognizes an individual’s commitment to the goals and objectives of the Association and their contribution to the Association, the profession, and their community.
The PEAK Achievement awards recognize excellence in all aspects of the building industry, from building and remodeling, to community service, outdoor projects, and designs. Cardello, along with other award winners was honored at the 2021 PEAK Achievement Awards Banquet on September 16 at Wyndridge Farm in Dallastown.
Cardello is the Founder and President of White Rose Settlement Services, Inc. in York. A York County native, Shonna has been active in the title industry for more than 27 years. A licensed title agent in Pennsylvania and Maryland, she has earned the designations of Certified Land Title Professional and National Title Professional. Shonna serves in several capacities for the American Land Title Association and the Pennsylvania Land Title Association, as well as the York Builders Association.
Shonna’s commitment to the home building industry spans over a decade. She served as president for the charter year of the York Builders Association Women’s Council. That year, the council was recognized for a community service project overhauling Trindle House, a group home for boys through the Children’s Home of York. She has served in various capacities at both the state and local level, including Regional Vice President, chair of several committees and YBA’s 2019 President of the Board. She played an integral role in establishing the YBA WorkforceNOW® initiative. The initiative is focused on increasing awareness of career opportunities in the skilled trades and providing resources for students, parents, employer organizations, teachers, and schools.
Shonna’s awards and recognitions include being a two-time recipient of the RAYAC Affiliate of the Year Award for volunteerism, the Title Action Network Agent Recruit of the Year, and the Title Industry Political Action Committee – Outstanding State Award. She was also honored in 2018 for receiving her lifetime directorship from the Pennsylvania Builders Association (PBA).
The Mack Smith Award is named after charter member Mack Smith, who exemplifies characteristics such as leadership, community service, and respect, dedication to the industry, mentorship, professionalism, and compassion. Individuals can be nominated each year by their peers and selected by a committee of building industry professionals.
