Investing in People Through Professional Development
Yoe Construction is a York-based commercial/Industrial construction company known not only for the quality of its work, but for the value it places on its people. As a team-oriented organization, Yoe Construction believes that investing in employee growth, safety, and culture is essential to long-term success. From prioritizing education and skill-building to fostering a supportive and engaging workplace, Yoe is intentional about creating an environment where employees can build meaningful careers.
That commitment to continued learning is what made Yoe Construction a natural fit as the Title Sponsor of the York Builders Association’s Professional Development Workshop Series.
Although Yoe Construction operates primarily in the commercial/Industrial construction space, President Butch Eberly saw strong value in becoming part of the YBA community. In conversations with YBA leadership, one area that stood out was the Association’s focus on education and professional development. While many YBA members are residential builders or contractors, Butch recognized that the challenges they face, balancing daily operations, business management, and workforce development, are universal across the construction industry.
“Professional development is important for any business owner,” Butch shared. He understands that for smaller companies especially, finding the time and budget for education can be difficult. Having access to relevant, well-designed learning opportunities through YBA gives members a real advantage, without requiring a significant time or financial investment.
That accessibility is a key reason Yoe Construction chose to sponsor the Professional Development Workshop Series. By supporting the program, Yoe helps YBA offer high-quality educational workshops that are both affordable and attainable for members. The sponsorship allows YBA to deliver meaningful value while keeping costs down, making professional growth more achievable for companies of all sizes.
Internally, professional development remains a priority at Yoe Construction as well. Butch believes that investing in people directly impacts company culture and long-term success. This year, he brought several members of his own team to YBA’s first professional development workshop and plans to continue supporting their growth through similar opportunities.
At Yoe, leadership is about understanding what motivates each individual. Rather than pushing employees down a predetermined path, Butch focuses on helping team members build the skills that align with their goals and strengths. That approach strengthens the team, the company, and ultimately the clients and communities they serve.
For Yoe Construction, continued learning isn’t just a benefit, it’s a responsibility. Their sponsorship of YBA’s Professional Development Workshop Series reflects a shared belief that strong teams, supported by accessible education, lead to better businesses and a stronger construction industry overallLearn how Yoe Construction’s commitment to professional development supports strong teams, positive culture, and accessible education for YBA members.
