A local grandmother whose grandson is confined to a wheelchair because of a rare disease reached out to the York Builders Association when her existing ramp and walk-way began falling apart. The deteriorating ramp and narrow sidewalk made it almost impossible for the young boy’s nurses to transport him to school and for medical care.
Members of the York Builders Association joined together on a blistering hot Saturday morning and with some hard work and determination made the necessary repairs and modifications to help this family.
Special thanks to Rich Krill of Woodland Developments and Ted Ventre of Hively Landscapes who spearheaded the project, along with Jason Barshinger of Embee & Son and Dan Wisotzkey of Yorktowne Roofing & Siding who worked many labor intensive hours. Also, special recognition and thanks to Kinsley Materials for donating the concrete.
