On Friday May 8, 2015 thirty employees of Hively Landscapes volunteered their Day of Service to benefit the Alexander D. Goode elementary school in York city.
The school is located at 251 N. Broad Street, York, PA 17403. Volunteers worked for the day to revitalize the landscaping in the central courtyard of the school so that students may use the area as an outdoor learning area. Projects included cleaning and repairing a frog pond, pruning trees and shrubs, rebuilding raised garden beds, repair of decorative stone walls, planting bed maintenance and general clean up of the entire courtyard area. Hively Landscapes is volunteering this time in conjunction with the Doing Good for Goode project of Temple Beth Israel, in York.
